Down in the Dales - an adventurous Saturday

A day of exploration, discovery and creativity with Stone and Water artists and rangers from the Peak District National Park Ranger Service

There will be geology walks (main one starts at 1.30, 2 miles, easy going, back by 4pm) and fossil rummaging among rocks. there will be our own collectionof fossils to look at, models to play with, and the lively chance to make your own ancient animal puppet, or build a miniature ancient rockpool to take home. Or you could add corals, seaweeds and shellfish to our more public ancient landscape installation

Activities run between 11am and 4 pm
Free, materials provided, no booking needed
Miller's Dale is off B6049 between A6 (Buxton) and Tideswell

Times: 2 sessions: 11 - 1 and 2 - 4pm
No booking needed - just drop-by and join in
Events are free (donations welcomed) and materials are provided
Where: Castleton Visitor Centre, S33 8WN (Hope Valley, Derbyshire)

Working around the Ancient Landscapes exhibition in the Visitor Centre, we'll look at fossils from our Peak District limestones and draw and make the animals that produced the fossils. Visitors will also be able to make their own little piece of ancient life with a prehistoric rockpool or add creatures to the landscape in the Visitor Centre
